Black Belt Schools International as a truly Worldwide non-style specific organisation has access to some of the best coaching and competition experience in the world of Martial Arts.
Along with that many people interested in taking up the Martial Arts and many experienced Martial Artists are realising that most of the existing Martial Art Systems (such as Tae Kwon-Do, Karate, Judo etc) although great styles in themselves are usually lacking in some aspect. For example Tae Kwon-Do exponents usually cannot grapple very well and Judo players usually aren’t such good kickers!
In recent years the concept of ‘Mixed Martial Arts’ has developed which as the name suggests takes different systems and combines them to form a more complete training package.
One of the problems with this up till now has been that these systems are often very much down to the individual to train in different styles themselves and there is no recognised syllabus.
Black Belt Schools International has developed such a syllabus using the expertise of some of the best Martial Artists in their field to devise a core system with Worldwide recognised gradings leading to Black Belt. Believing it to be the Premier development of Martial Arts systems they have called this system Premier Martial Arts (PMA).
Premier Martial Art classes include the following
Karate/Taekwondo style set forms and katas .
You learn freestyle karate stances, kicks, strikes and blocks along with set forms to put them together into dynamic routines. Techniques learnt can be used in freestyle points sparring or kata competition.
Kickboxing
The high energy pad work and partner work outs these give develop fitness and power. Practical competitive skills can be developed with students going on to semi or full contact competition.
Self Protection
The course developers have taken techniques and concepts as used by military and special forces worldwide along with practical realistic scenario based workouts. These are high intensity stress inducing routines to hone your reactions to a real life attack. Brazilian style Ju Jitsu techniques groundfighting techniques are used for when a fight goes to the floor.
Weapons
Bo Staff, Kama, Nunchaku and Escrima are all taught to develop co-ordination and technical skill in weapons forms. Apart from the challenge of handling these weapons and the knock on effect of being able to extend your skills through a weapon it is great fun!
